Skating in the Netherlands : Skatefresh 2006

Last year I paid a visit to you and joined you during the fridaynightskate on the 1st of july click here for pictures.

Would you like the idea to skate for several days through the netherlands, join the Amsterdam Fridaynight skate and meet fellow skaters from other countries ?

Then you might find the following interesting :

Skatefresh '06 will take place from May 9 to 14. The event is organized to give skaters from all over the globe the chance to skate in along and vist Hollands Highlights. This years route will go from East to West and through constantly alternating landscapes.

Short day to day programm
On Tuesday May 9 (this is actually the evening before the skating starts), everyone can get to know other skaters and be informed about the next day.
On Wednesday we will start with a buride to a secret location in the East and skate over the banks of the big rivers to the West.
On Thursday we will move a bit North through the centre of Holland (Utrechtse Heuvelrug and 't Gooi) with it's small canals, forests and lot's of castles, also the big city with classic cannels Utrecht will be paid a visit.
On Friday the groups will linger over small dikes and along old rivers (de Vecht) to Amsterdam where we join the local Fridaynightskate.
On Saturday we will skate further West, to the bulbfields and the old Floriade area.
On Sunday the tour will go further through this area and a ride through the dunes very close to the sea is included. The tour ends in the old city of Delft from where a direct trains go to Amsterdam Airport.

SkateFresh Holland Tour basics:
Skating will be done in small groups with guides, so that everyone can skate in a group with people of the same abbility.
Sleeping will be done in tents (affordable), in beautifull places (close to the dunes, on the banks of the river Rhine on campsites with good showers.
Daily distances are about 50-80 km

Non-profit
As the event is totally non-profit it costs only euro 155,- Included are places at the camp-sites, breakfast, some snacks and drinks during skating, transportation of luggage, a sports shirt, the mobile skating cafe in the evenings, guiding, a broom bus to pick skaters up if necessary, a ride with the touringcar from the first campsite (which is also the finish) in the West to the actual start of the tour in the East.

International skating
The registration has been open for less than a week and already over 60 people signed up from 13 different countries and 15 different nationalities. To give everyone the chance to get to know eachother, the maximum number of participants is set to 100.

We hope to meet people from all over the inline planet again this year, the more nationalities, the more fun. Needless to say that we will be very happy to welcome skaters from this forum!
